Already planning what you’re going to wear to the office Christmas party this year? OK, summer has barely started and the sound of jingle bells still seems a long way off, but it’s never too early to think about a fun theme for a Christmas party, whether you’re organising it for the workplace, or a special event for friends and family to enjoy.
Spell it out with themed invites
But rather than the usual party where everyone gets glammed up, why not theme this year’s event around Christmas clothing – and the wackier and tackier the better? Send out your invitations early, designed to leave no one in any doubt about what’s expected of them and giving them plenty of time to track down the loudest, gaudiest top-to-toe Christmas outfits including, of course, the centrepiece Christmas jumper that everyone has to wear!
Everyone loves a Christmas jumper party
Asking everyone to wear the Christmas jumper to the party is a great way to set the tone for a fun-filled night. For those who don’t have a jumper stored away in a cupboard somewhere, there’s time to search online for a Christmas themed sweater, or check out the local charity shops and jumble sales. Christmas jumpers have come a long way since Bing Crosby first made them popular singing “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas” in the 1940s, complete with Santa hat. Ridiculous, over-the-top, hideous – call them what you like, but it’s impossible to wear a Christmas jumper without a smile on your face, even if it’s a touch ironic.
Now add some music
There’s no point asking everyone to wear a loud Christmas jumper to the party if you don’t have some great live music to get them up on the dancefloor. But that’s where we come in. We have some great Christmas party bands for hire, who’ll make sure this is one Christmas party you and your guests won’t forget in a hurry!
